Fed's Interest Rate Cut

The Federal Reserve reduced its target interest rate by .5% (aka 50 basis points) on September 18, 2024 . The federal funds rate is now between 4.75% and 5%. The goal is to maintain high employment and to cool-off inflation. You can read more here.
